Prof. Findl is an active teacher at the Medical University of Vienna. He holds lectures for students training in ophthalmology and optometry. His key lecture series are on the causes of myopia. Furthermore, Prof. Findl supervises dissertations and diploma theses. Prof. Findl also enjoys teaching non medicals. He has held presentations on the topic "Cataract" at the Austrian Science week. He also likes to pass on his knowledge to children: during the annual event "Kinderuni Wien" (children's university Vienna), he lectured on the topic "Why do I need glasses".
A main field of interest of Prof. Findl is the development of computer learning programs. These learning tools are highly appreciated by medical students and are among the most frequently used electronic learning devices at medical universities. These cutting-edge learning projects have won several awards, such as the Austrian State Award for Multimedia. Due to his dedication and love for teaching, Prof. Findl has been among the first university teachers to be awarded the "Teacher of The Month- Awards " by the Medical University of Vienna in 2005.
