OCT - Retinal Scan

OCT - Retinal Scan (Optical Coherence Tomography).

The OCT Retinal Scan allows to image changes of the macula and of the optic nerve head and to measure these with high precision. Benefits of this modern and non-invasive diagnostic instrument are high precision cross-sectional images of the retina and the possiblilty to compare scans over time in the case of chronic eye diseases. The scans are archived to allow us to compare them. As a special service, we will print out a copy of your images for your own records. The OCT device in our office, rt-vue by Optovue, is one of the most advanced spectral-domain OCT devices.

Apart from other rare eye diseases, OCT examinations are recommended mainly for the following common eye conditions:

Macular Degeneration

Macular Glaucoma

Epritinale Membranes (Macular Pucker)

Macula Holes

Diabetic Macula Edema
